You have to bypass the ballast in your fixtures for these to work. It isn't hard, but takes a little technical knowledge. They are bright and seem to have good life. I think they're well worth the price.I put LED lights in my shop a couple of years ago using a different brand. The bulbs were supposed to last 20,000 hours. After 2 years they lost brightness and 3 bulbs already failed. I replaced them with Barrina bulbs and what a difference. The shop is twice as bright as it was. I can't say about longevity as I just put them in. I will adjust the review as time goes on.Really really happy with 8’ bypass bulbs. Very easy diagrams for wiring. Wow I have light now. Very very happy with day light bulbs.That were easy to install and came in with no damageI was looking for an alternative to the 8' lights I had in my shop as they cast shadows and didn't really provide the light I was looking for, not to mention that annoying buzzing and lag time when turned on in cold weather. Because the ceiling is 14' tall, I was worried about light dispersal so I went with these 44w lights over the lower wattage. I have 6 two tube fixtures covering 1500 sq. feet and could not believe how bright the light was after conversion to these tubes. It is the purest white light I have ever seen and I probably could have gotten away with the lower wattage tubes, but I'm glad I got these. Removing ballast and re-wiring was a breeze and took about 5 minutes per fixture. I did place a wire tie around the fixture and the tubes in the middle to help support the tubes and avoid sagging. They make clips that will do the same thing, but the wire tie worked just fine. I also found that if I "aimed" the light by slightly rotating the tubes away from each other the light spread out over a larger area and avoided all shadows. Shipping was very fast and tubes were extremely well packed and arrived by UPS earlier than estimated. Every tube lit instantly and completely and I could not be more happy with the results. Best money I have spent in a long time and the quality is awesome. I would highly recommend this conversion to anyone looking for a bright, clean, quiet, and efficient source of light.1/28/2020 update: I like these lights so much that I have decided to add several more 8ft. fixtures and install these tubes. If anything, I am more pleased the longer I use them. It is great to walk into the shop in the evening or first thing in the morning and have instant bright white light everywhere at the flick of a switch. Aiming the tubes with a 14' ceiling definitely makes a difference in light dispersal.Bright. Come on instantly. No hum. Eleven bulbs replaced 22 florescent bulbs and are MUCH brighter. Used the old fixtures which were quickly and easily converted to the new bulbs by an electrician friend. Entire job took less than two hours.I replaced all 16 fluorescent bulbs in my shop with these. They provide instant bright light every time with no ballast hum. Rewiring the original fixtures was easy.
