The two issues you'll have with these lights are 1) the Tula app doesn't work with Alexa anymore. People all over are reporting this. 2) There are no instructions on how to join the strips once you cut them to length.The lights are bright, they look great, the fasteners are easy to use to keep them in place. The Tula app does allow you to create "on / off" cycles with which color you want when, etc. However, getting this to work with Alexa is a mystery. I was able to get both sets of my lights to work with Alexa, but I had to create routines for it. Mysteriously, the morning after I put the lights up (I got two kits at once) I was able to get the Alexa app to recognize there was a new Alexa device on my network. I added the bulb and named it the same I'd named it in the Tula app, but still it would not work with voice commands you are probably familiar with. I had to create custom routines, which are exactly what I say to control my other Alexa capable lights, and they work. But I want buyers to know that out of the box, once you get them connected to the Tula app, you won't be able to use them with Alexa without some extra work. It was also super frustrating getting the included LED connectors to join pieces of strips. I found a couple YouTube clips that explained it in pretty good detail but there are NO instructions in the box that show you specifically how to wire a strand of lights after you cut them to length.On the positive side, they are quite bright, we're using them to light above a ping pong table but my family really enjoys using the Tula app to music. The lights flash randomly as the app "listens" to the song, the flashes get more intricate and accurate, it's a lot of fun, although it is apparently controlled in part by your phone's front facing camera and light sensor. Whatever phone you used to setup the system is the one you have to use to control this music feature. The remote works fine, but it's very limited in the number of colors you can create, you really need to use the Tula app for full control.These lights are super dim on the highest brightness setting: the highest brightness is what I'd expect from the lowest brightness setting. The whole strip at full blast is about as bright as a candle or night light. There are some use cases for very dim lights, so this might be appropriate for someone. I had wanted to use them as room lighting, and they barely make a difference at all.It took a few different tries, but I did pair them with the Smart Life app successfully. I can control the lights from the app or via the included remote. I have them on a schedule to auto turn off or on and that's working well.It's hard to get a good white light out of them, but they seem to do colors ok. But they're too dim to really make a color impact.Brought 2 sets. 1 works perfect but the other set only half the lights work. Amazon have a refund. Other than that set that works looks great! Would’ve gave 5 starsNot The worst but certainly not the best set of strip lights I’ve ever owned. There are not very many functions on the remote and while the app is easy to use, when it disconnects from the app the strip lights reset color to a reddish and half brightness. The control box connects to the strip lights very loosely so I have them taped together. Overall, I would not buy these again but I do not necessarily regret the purchase just because of how cheap they were. Just goes to show, you get what you pay forGreat product works well, out of the 4 different branded led strips I’ve purchased and used this one by far had the better accessories to modify a strip if you have to cut or change direction of the strip. My daughter loves the WiFi option which allows more customization of colors than the remote offers.
